Still have some questions?

Here is some more information to help you prepare for your great day on the Heritage House Tour in Lunenburg:

Check-in: Everyone on the tour needs a Passport! Check in to pick up Tour Passports and take an opportunity to purchase House Tour raffle tickets and Lunenburg Heritage Society products. Pick one of two check-in locations:
- Lunenburg Academy’s Heritage Classroom - 97 Kaulback Street (9:45am – 2:30pm) – park onsite
- Ironworks Distillery - 2 Kempt Street – Montague Street doors (10am – 1pm) – park across the street at Clearwater Seafoods

Taking the Tour: The tour is self-guided, so you come and go from the houses and other buildings in the order that you wish, at the pace you wish. The homes are open from 10am to 4pm, however hours vary at other locations and are listed in your passport. Volunteers are present in each home to provide assistance and information to tour participants.

Timing: Allow time to travel between sites (the sites in Old Town are within a kilometer of each other), eat at one of Lunenburg’s great restaurants, and relax while taking in the beautiful views. Remember Lunenburg is hilly, but parking may be a challenge. You may choose to walk within town but drive to homes on Tannery Road and Hospital Road.

Passport: Your Passport grants you entry to the private homes and other buildings on the tour. In your passport you will find a map of the town showing all locations on the tour and descriptions of each location.

Properties: Be respectful of the privacy and the property of the homeowners who are sharing their homes with you. Use caution to prevent slips or falls on stairs, walkways, wooden, and uneven surfaces. Be prepared to remove your shoes (weather-dependent). No food or drink, photography, smoking or pets inside.
