Our patrons and members provide us with direct financial support through donations and membership fees. Our volunteers give generously of their time and talents to the Society’s heritage work and its special fundraising events.
Fund-raising activities are crucial to carrying out our heritage research, conservation and education mandate. Program committees organize house tours, an annual folk art festival and other special events in the Town of Lunenburg. With monies raised from these activities the Society is able to:
- Operate the Knaut-Rhuland House as a period history museum.
- Maintain the Heritage Bandstand as a focal point in “Old Town” Lunenburg.
- Coordinate local heritage research and education outreach services and projects.
